Basketball Recap: Viera Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

The third road matchup was the charm for Viera, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took down the Bishop Moore Hornets 64-46 on Saturday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Hornets are ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mark Dadlani, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Connor Corris, who put up 11 points.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-3. As for Bishop Moore, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Viera and Cocoa will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Viera is facing Cocoa at the right time seeing as Cocoa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bishop Moore, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Beachside at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
