Hancock wins going away against Greene County

Recap: Hancock Hawks vs. Greene County Tigers

The Hancock Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Greene County as Hancock made off with a 60-34 win. Given Hancock's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 114th in Mississippi, while Greene County is ranked 412th in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greene County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lester Scott, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Jessie Pelt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Greene County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Hancock's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Greene County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hancock will take on Gulfport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greene County, they will be playing at home against Noxubee County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
