Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Heritage Christian Academy

Heritage Christian Academy entered their tilt with Tuscaloosa Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Tuscaloosa Christian Warriors as they made off with an 18-8 victory.

Leah Pace made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Pace was also big at the plate, scoring three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Shayla Smart was a standout: she scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. AC Amick also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Heritage Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Heritage Christian Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Coosa Valley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Trinity Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
