The Highland Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Pocatello Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Highland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Highland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Centennial, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Highland was ranked 11th). The Rams came up short against the Patriots on Saturday, falling 15-4. The Rams have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Reece Bybee was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Molly Broadhead was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Pocatello fell victim to Owyhee and their airtight pitching crew last Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm. The Thunder's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Pocatello's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Highland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. However, it's not like Pocatello struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Highland suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Pocatello when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
