Basketball Recap: Chamberlain Comes Up Short

Chamberlain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Gregory Gorillas on the road by a 49-31 margin. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gorillas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Leading Gregory to victory were Dani Vanderwerff and Regan Graesser. Vanderwerff went 7 of 16 on her way to 19 points and three steals, while Graesser posted 19 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Graesser has scored at least a third of Gregory's points.

Chamberlain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Gregory, with the victory, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-9.

Chamberlain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-23 loss against Miller on the 23rd. As for Gregory, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-46 defeat against White River on the 23rd.
