Soccer Game Preview: Pine Ridge vs. DeLand

The Pine Ridge Panthers and the DeLand Bulldogs will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Ridge will be strutting in after a win while DeLand will be coming in after a defeat.

Pine Ridge will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Deltona on Thursday. Pine Ridge came out on top against Deltona by a score of 4-2. It was an even better day for Logan Schoenweiss as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, DeLand didn't have quite enough to beat Oviedo on Monday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Lions are ranked 80th).

Pine Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five contests. As for DeLand, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2.
