Softball Recap: North Creek Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but North Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Cedarcrest Red Wolves 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won five games in a row.

Reagan Fleming spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addy Cook was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

North Creek pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cedarcrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10-1.

Looking ahead, North Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Inglemoor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Cedarcrest, they are taking a road trip to square off against Newport - Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.24 runs per game on average), something the Red Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
