Softball Recap: Pekin Comes Up Short

Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 4-1 to the Washington Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Pekin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Lindahl, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Pekin now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Washington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Pekin and Washington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Dragons will take on Morton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (132 vs. 314). Meanwhile, Washington (ranked sixth) will meet Canton (ranked 74th) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.9, the Little Giants 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
