Basketball Recap: Dyland Rangel Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Community Christian Academy

St. Teresa's Catholic won the last time they faced Community Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The St. Teresa's Catholic Crusaders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over the Community Christian Academy Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

St. Teresa's Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dyland Rangel, who posted 22 points. Rangel's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michael Richard, who earned 16 points.

Community Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kylin McDonald, who put up 24 points. McDonald is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Smith, who had 17 points.

The victory got St. Teresa's Catholic back to even at 2-2. As for Community Christian Academy, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Teresa's Catholic will head out to take on Colquitt Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Community Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against CHESS Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
