Softball Recap: Kirtland Comes Up Short

If Kirtland was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Lakeside last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kirtland came up short against the Perry Pirates on Monday, falling 13-2. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kirtland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Boyd Kennedy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Kirtland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Perry, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kirtland will welcome Harding at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perry, they will be playing at home against Conneaut at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give Perry their first taste of in-conference action this season.
