Baseball Recap: Connellsville Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Connellsville won the last time they faced McKeesport and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Falcons have won four games by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Porreca looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grayden Gillott, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Matthew Firestone was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Connellsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKeesport only posted a batting average of .067.

Connellsville's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for McKeesport, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.
