Northside Christian Academy has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Northside Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime match against Greenwood Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 83-82 to the Hawks. While losing is never fun, Northside Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Greenwood Christian is ranked 20th).
Despite the loss, Northside Christian Academy got a solid performance out of Hilton Dessausure, who scored 30 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Sundell, who scored 21 points along with 9 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Spartanburg Christian Academy, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They were dealt a 72-21 loss at the hands of High Point Academy on Friday. Spartanburg Christian Academy has struggled against High Point Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Their wins bumped Northside Christian Academy to 5-2 and Greenwood Christian to 7-1.
Everything came up roses for Northside Christian Academy against Spartanburg Christian Academy when the teams last played on Tuesday as the squad secured a 77-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
