Orange Lutheran is a perfect 4-0 against Santa Margarita since September of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 5:45 p.m. Orange Lutheran is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.1 points per game this season.

Orange Lutheran is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: JSerra Catholic, who was ranked second at the time (Orange Lutheran was ranked first). The Lancers took an 18-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 71 points in the game before, the Lancers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Santa Margarita against Mater Dei on Tuesday as the squad secured a 37-8 victory. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Orange Lutheran better keep an eye on Madi Lam. She was instrumental in Santa Margarita's win, throwing for 303 yards and four TDs while completing 77.1% of her passes, and also rushing for 63 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. That's the most rushing yards Lam has posted since back in August. A healthy portion of Lam's aerial production (96 yards to be exact) went to Gwen Julianel.

Santa Margarita has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Orange Lutheran fell to 18-1.

Thursday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Makena Cook and Lam. Cook just won't slow down this season and has thrown 73 touchdowns (and and only 11 picks) while averaging 263.2 passing yards per game. Lam has been a dominant force too and has thrown 58 touchdowns while averaging 203.4 passing yards per game.

Orange Lutheran strolled past Santa Margarita in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 32-14. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
