Basketball Recap: Seguin Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Seguin won the last time they faced Burbank, and Corey Dailey did his part to make sure it happened again. The Seguin Matadors came out on top against the Burbank Bulldogs by a score of 71-61 on Friday thanks in part to Dailey, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 boards. He has become a key player for Seguin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 30 points, but 14-15 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Saengerhausen, who went 6 of 8 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Seguin is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Burbank, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-20 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seguin will host Brackenridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Seguin's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Brackenridge has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
