Basketball Recap: Bradford Railroaders vs. Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks
Bradford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks 64-23. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 700th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 125th).
Mississinawa Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylee Woodbury, who posted 21 points along with eight assists and six boards. Woodbury's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Syenna Purdin, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Bradford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Mississinawa Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.
Bradford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-30 loss against Milton-Union on the 25th. Mississinawa Valley has also already played their next game, a 76-37 win against Tri-County North on the 30th.
