Basketball Recap: Chief Sealth Comes Up Short

Chief Sealth lost against Seattle Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chief Sealth Seahawks took a 54-39 bruising from the Seattle Academy Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Cardinals are ranked 91st).

This is the second loss in a row for Chief Sealth and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Seattle Academy, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chief Sealth will take on Ballard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seattle Academy, they will square off against Rainier Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
