Newberry's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Engadine 56-0. That looming 56-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Indians yet this season.

Meanwhile, Munising was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 56-8 loss at the hands of St. Ignace.

Newberry pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points over those games. As for Munising, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
