Baseball Game Preview: Deming Wildcats vs. Silver Slvr Ftg Colts

For the second straight game, Deming will face off against Silver. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Slvr Ftg Colts at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Deming has seven straight victories, Silver has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Deming got the win against Silver by a conclusive 9-1. Considering the Wildcats have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Daniel Porras spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks.

Deming always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver only posted an OBP of .296.

Deming's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Silver, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Silver's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Deming has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Silver, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Deming's sizable advantage in that area, the Slvr Ftg Colts will need to find a way to close that gap.
