Basketball Recap: Elkins Wins High-Profile Contest Against Bridgeport

On Monday, Elkins faced Bridgeport in a battle between two of the state's top teams. It was close, but the Elkins Tigers ultimately received the gift of a 36-34 victory from a begrudging Tigers squad. The 36-point effort marked their lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

When it comes to explaining why Bridgeport lost, don't look at Kloey Martinez. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Kerr, who posted four points.
