Basketball Recap: Graham Comes Up Short

Graham won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were beaten by the Southeast Alamance Stallions 63-12. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-7.

Shaniya Paylor continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southeast Alamance, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. That's the most steals Paylor has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Lopez, who posted eight points and four steals.

Graham has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Southeast Alamance, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Graham will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Seaforth at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Southeast Alamance, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cummings at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
