Basketball Recap: Meadow Bridge Takes a Loss

Meadow Bridge and Greater Beckley Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Meadow Bridge had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders 96-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 33rd).

Greater Beckley Christian found their leader in sophomore Keegan Davidson, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 22 points and five steals. Davidson's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Drew Fitzwater was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Meadow Bridge is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20. As for Greater Beckley Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Meadow Bridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they have already played their next game, a 72-46 victory against Mount View on the 12th.
