Baseball Game Preview: Arlington Tigers vs. Marshall Academy Patriots

The Arlington Tigers will face off against the Marshall Academy Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington will be strutting in after a victory while Marshall Academy will be coming in after a loss.

While Arlington's win against Briarcrest Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Saints 8-6. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Marshall Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Briarcrest Christian on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marshall Academy got a good showing from Landon Loper, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Loper hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

At the plate, Colt Carpenter made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Kyler Todd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Marshall Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.
