Basketball Game Preview: Cassville Wildcats vs. Lamar Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cassville Wildcats duke it out with the Lamar Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday... Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Cassville came up short against Ash Grove and fell 51-44.

Meanwhile, Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to El Dorado Springs on the road by a 61-42 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 57th).

Cassville's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-4. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Cassville suffered a grim 44-24 defeat to Lamar in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Cassville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
