Softball Recap: Kynlee Mcgraw's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mattoon over Mahomet-Seymour

Mattoon suffered their closest defeat since April 16th on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Mattoon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kynlee McGraw, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Alyssa Whitley was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mattoon has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

Coming up, Mattoon will square off against Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they are taking a road trip to square off against MacArthur at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
