Softball Game Preview: South Aiken Thoroughbreds vs. Fox Creek Predators

The South Aiken Thoroughbreds will challenge the Fox Creek Predators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between South Aiken and Barnwell, and South Aiken kept the tradition alive. The Thoroughbreds had just enough and edged out the Warhorses 6-5 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thoroughbreds have posted since March 8th.

Addison Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexis Meyer, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Staley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Fox Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Silver Bluff on Wednesday, taking the game 8-3. The Predators haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

South Aiken has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-20 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Fox Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.
