Soccer Game Preview: Franklin vs. Divine Child

The Franklin Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Divine Child Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Franklin put up the most goals they have all season on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Wayne Memorial an 8-0 shutout. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Divine Child, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Cranbrook Kingswood 5-0 on Tuesday. Considering Divine Child have won seven matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Divine Child's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-2. As for Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Franklin might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Divine Child in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
