Volleyball Recap: Edgewood Extends Winning Streak to Three

Edgewood had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Astronaut War Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Red Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the War Eagles, too.

Edgewood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

Anna Ely paced Edgewood's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ely got some help from Debbie Walley and her 36 assists. Ely was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Astronaut lost, don't look at Jojo Demers. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two aces.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Astronaut, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Edgewood will challenge Merritt Island at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Astronaut, they will square off against Satellite at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
