Football Recap: Washington Union Comes Up Short

After flying high against Coalinga last Friday, Washington Union came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingsburg Vikings on Friday. Despite 57 more yards than the Vikings, the Panthers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Washington Union still got an impressive performance from Mckinley Williams, who threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns. The Panthers also got a significant boost from Jareal Albert, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.

Washington Union's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Kingsburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Washington Union will host Exeter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kingsburg, they will venture away from home to face off against Central Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
