Volleyball Recap: Staley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Raymore-Peculiar on Tuesday, Staley came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the Lee's Summit West Titans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Staley took Lee's Summit West into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17, 15-11.

Cody Treadway paced Staley's offense, picking up 15 kills. Treadway got some help from Lawson Stuhlsatz and his 37 assists. Stuhlsatz was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Staley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Lee's Summit West, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4-1.

Coming up, Staley will head out on the road to face off against Lee's Summit North at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lee's Summit West, they will host Raymore-Peculiar at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
