Basketball Recap: Cody's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Cody had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down the Chatfield Chargers 63-48 on Saturday. Given the Broncs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in Wyoming, while the Chargers are ranked 132nd in Colorado), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Chatfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sadie Goodwin went 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goodwin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Reed, who posted ten points and three steals.

Cody's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Chatfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Cody didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-34 victory against Lander Valley on the 7th. As for Chatfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-43 defeat against Regis Jesuit on the 8th.
