Recap: Northside Patriots vs. Jones County Greyhounds
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Northside Patriots, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 42-21 walloping at the hands of Jones County on Friday.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kingston Rivers, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Jones County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Edmonds, who threw for 302 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Edmonds hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Ragins, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Jones County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Northside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jones County will head out on the road to face off against Coffee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coffee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
