Soccer Recap: Palmetto Victorious

Palmetto kept a clean sheet against Manatee on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Manatee Hurricanes 1-0. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmetto's one-goal win came courtesy of Ja'Lynn Sanders, who's now up to 24 this season.

Palmetto has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Manatee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Southeast the next time they take the pitch. Manatee will host Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Palmetto will host them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
