Football Recap: Simeon Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Simeon can now relate to. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the East St. Louis Flyers on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Wolverines' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

East St. Louis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ahmad Coleman, who rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Coleman a new career-high. Kortez Rupert was in the mix too, providing East St. Louis with two TDs.

Simeon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for East St. Louis, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

As of now, neither Simeon nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
