Soccer Recap: Sikeston Comes Up Short

Sikeston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Poplar Bluff Mules. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sikeston of the 2-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2016.

Sikeston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Poplar Bluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Sikeston has already played their next contest (against Carbondale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Poplar Bluff, they have also already played their next match, a 4-0 win against Farmington on the 7th.
