Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette Central Catholic). They took down the Faith Christian Eagles 67-50 on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Knights with their most commanding win of the season.

Mikey Stapleton went supernova for Lafayette Central Catholic, going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those 27 points gave Stapleton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ray Clayton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Stapleton wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lafayette Central Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Luke Barrett and Luke Miller certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Barrett went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points, while Miller went 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points and eight boards. Barrett is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Grant Callan was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

The victory snapped Lafayette Central Catholic's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-6 record. As for Faith Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Lafayette Central Catholic has already played their next game, a 75-53 loss against Peru on the 24th. As for Faith Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-45 defeat against Carroll on the 25th.
