Basketball Recap: Meridian Mustangs vs. High Plains Storm
The Meridian Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against High Plains, falling 66-36. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Meridian in their matchups with the Storm: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading High Plains to victory were Ayden Hans and Brodey Spurling. Hans scored 17 points along with two steals, while Spurling scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spurling has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haden Helgoth, who scored 11 points.
Meridian's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for High Plains, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Meridian will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. Osceola will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for High Plains, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers on Friday.
