Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem lost against Marlington back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Salem Quakers took a blow against the Marlington Dukes, falling 70-37. While losing is never fun, the Quakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while the Dukes are ranked 271st).

Salem has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Marlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will host Beaver Local at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Marlington has already played their next contest (against Tuscarawas Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
