Baseball Recap: Zionsville Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Zionsville's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Center Grove Trojans on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Trojans since May 13, 2019.

Zionsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Hughes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

With the defeat, Zionsville broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8. As for Center Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zionsville will square off against Noblesville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Millers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Center Grove, they will face off against Hamilton Southeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
