Basketball Recap: Brush Takes a Loss

Brush was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 58-44 fall against the Strasburg Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-50 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Brush lost, don't look at Sidney Miller. Despite the final result, she shot 63% from the field on her way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Michelle Headley, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Strasburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Damron, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. Damron has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Addi Kent was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points.

Brush's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Strasburg, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.

Brush has already played their next match, a 47-44 win against Peyton on the 7th. As for Strasburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-46 victory against Meeker on the 7th.
