The Prattville Christian Academy Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Monroe County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Prattville Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
Prattville Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Sumter Central at home. Considering Prattville Christian Academy has won three games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Among those leading the charge was Matthew Post, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Prattville Christian Academy also got a significant boost from Bryson Pugh, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Meanwhile, Monroe County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 41-28 to Flomaton. While losing is never fun, Monroe County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Flomaton is ranked 140th).
Prattville Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Monroe County, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Prattville Christian Academy against Monroe County in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 42-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prattville Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
