Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluffs Comes Up Short

Cedar Bluffs lost against High Plains back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cedar Bluffs Wildcats took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the High Plains Storm. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead High Plains to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Brown, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Brown is becoming a predictor of High Plains' success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Gahvrielle Lesiak, who posted eight points and six steals.

Cedar Bluffs' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for High Plains, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Shelby-Rising City the next time they take the court. Cedar Bluffs will head out to face Shelby-Rising City at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, while High Plains will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
