Basketball Preview: Jordan-Matthews Jets vs. North Moore Mustangs

Jordan-Matthews and North Moore are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Jordan-Matthews Jets will get right back to it and host the North Moore Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jordan-Matthews is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Jordan-Matthews is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Southeast Alamance on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jordan-Matthews was dealt a 91-54 defeat at the hands of Southeast Alamance. The Jets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-22.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Moore). They strolled past South Davidson with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 65-49. The Mustangs pushed the score to 53-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

North Moore's win came from a few key players Jordan-Matthews will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brady Preslar, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Futrell, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.

North Moore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
