Softball Game Preview: Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls vs. Powell County Pirates

Owsley County is on an eight-game streak of home losses, and Powell County a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls will be playing at home against the Powell County Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Owsley County and Buckhorn meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Owls / Lady Owls lost 15-6 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Powell County came up short against Berea on Thursday, falling 13-2.

Marti Kirk made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Madison Kincaid also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Powell County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Owsley County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
