Basketball Recap: Dolores Takes a Loss

Dolores was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 41-20 to the Mancos Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-25 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Dolores lost, don't look at Taylor Erautt. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and five boards. That was a full 60% of Dolores' points, marking the fifth time in a row Erautt has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Mancos found their leader in freshman Tinsley Aspromonte, who put up 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Aspromonte is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Caylee Moore was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Dolores' defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Mancos, they moved to 7-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

As of now, neither Dolores nor Mancos have any future games scheduled.
