Baseball Game Preview: Shady Spring Tigers vs. Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles

The Shady Spring Tigers will face off against the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Shady Spring was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty, taking the game 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Colyn Smith looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Cutter Boggs was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jacob Claypool, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over James Monroe on Monday.

Brady Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddex Sims, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Will Farrish also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Woodrow Wilson's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Shady Spring, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
