Recap: Zapata Hawks vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns
On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Zapata beat Agua Dulce 37-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Zapata.
Agua Dulce's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Vinton, who scored 9 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Calvez, who scored 11 points.
The victory got Zapata back to even at 3-3. As for Agua Dulce, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Zapata will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Raymondville at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Agua Dulce, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ben Bolt at 6:00 p.m. Ben Bolt is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
