Softball Recap: Ridgeline Takes Down Ranked Westlake

Ridgeline faced Westlake in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Riverhawks walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Thunder. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Riverhawks.

Kendyllee Jensen looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anne Wallace and Olivia Nielsen did most of the damage at the plate: Wallace went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Nielsen went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most runs Wallace has posted since back in March. Jerzee Jensen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ridgeline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Ridgeline's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Westlake, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.

Ridgeline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westlake, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.35 runs per game on average), something the Thunder will no doubt try to take advantage of.
