Basketball Game Preview: Bloom Blazing Trojan vs. Rich Township Raptors

The Bloom Blazing Trojan will head out to take on the Rich Township Raptors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bloom's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Last Thursday, Bloom was fully in charge, breezing past Crete-Monee 69-38. Given the Blazing Trojan's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Warriors are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rich Township didn't have too much trouble with Orr on Saturday as they won 57-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raptors.

Rich Township's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Bloom, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Bloom took their win against Rich Township in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 78-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloom since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
