Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Xavier Prep). Everything went their way against the Cathedral City Lions on Wednesday as they made off with a 15-4 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Saints needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Zain Valdivia was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Xavier Prep is undefeated when Valdivia posts two or more runs, but 8-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elijah Castro, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Xavier Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Xavier Prep's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-15. As for Cathedral City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
