Preview: Westchester Comets vs. Fairfax Lions
The Westchester Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfax Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Westchester took a serious blow against Palisades, falling 37-6.
Meanwhile, Fairfax was the victim of a tough 27-7 loss at the hands of Hamilton on Friday. Fairfax has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westchester's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Kennedy and 6-2 Crenshaw (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.8% over those games). As for Fairfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Westchester strolled past Fairfax in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westchester since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
